The 4 C’s of diamonds
The value and beauty of a diamond are defined by the 5 Cs, cut, colour, clarity and carat. Cut is often considered the most important, as it determines how effectively a diamond reflects light, directly influencing its brilliance and fire. Colour refers to the presence of any tint within the stone, with the most valuable diamonds appearing as colourless as possible. Clarity assesses the presence of internal inclusions and external blemishes, while carat relates to the weight of the diamond, which often impacts its perceived size.
